Car Audio Guide

How to pick a car audio upgrade without overspending.

Most people walk in asking for "the best speakers" without knowing what that means for their car. Here is the honest way to think about it.

Start with what is actually wrong. If vocals sound muddy or bass is weak at low volume, the problem is usually the stock speakers, not the head unit. If the sound cuts out or distorts at high volume, that is an amplifier and wiring problem, not a speaker problem. Fix the thing that is actually broken first.

Speakers come before bass tubes

A clean pair of speakers (from Rs 1,999 onward) fixes most daily annoyances. A bass tube is a want, not a need, and it only sounds right once the speakers and wiring ahead of it are solid. We have turned away plenty of customers who wanted a big subwoofer on top of factory-stock speakers and wiring, because it would have sounded worse, not better.

Active vs passive bass tubes

Active ones have the amplifier built in, so they are simpler to fit and a safer first upgrade. Passive ones need a separate amplifier but give more control if you know what you want. If you are not sure, go active.

Damping matters more than people expect

A sheet of sound damping on the front doors (Rs 599 per sheet) cuts road noise and makes the same speakers sound noticeably tighter. It is the cheapest upgrade with the most obvious difference.

Fitting should always be included in the price

Ask any shop directly: is labour included, or is it extra at the end? At Madhuban Motors it is always included, no separate labour line added after the fact.
