A louder horn draws far more current than the factory one. Wire it through the original switch and you burn the switch. We fit a relay so the horn takes its power from the battery and the switch only triggers it.
These are our real starting prices. The final figure depends on your car and what it needs, which we confirm before any work begins.
Fitting is included in every price above. No labour line added at the end, no surprise on the bill. If a job genuinely needs work beyond the normal, we tell you what it costs before we start, never after. That has been the rule on GT Road since 1989.
A powerful horn pulls several times the current of the factory unit. Run that through the original horn switch and the switch or the wiring will eventually fail. A relay lets the horn draw directly from the battery while the switch only sends a small signal. It costs very little and prevents an expensive problem.
Ordinary replacement horns are fine. Multi tone pressure horns and anything that mimics an emergency vehicle are not permitted and attract fines. We will fit you something effective and legal, and we will say so if you ask for something that is not.
