This is the question everybody asks and most shops answer carelessly. The rules require at least 70 percent visible light transmission on the front windscreen and front side windows, and at least 50 percent on the rear side windows. Dark films below those levels are not permitted and attract fines. Enforcement and interpretation have varied, so we fit certified film within the legal limits and we tell you plainly what you are buying. If a shop offers you a very dark film cheaply, that is a fine waiting to happen.
A good certified film cuts a large amount of ultraviolet and infrared heat while still letting light through. Your cabin gets cooler, your dashboard and seats fade less, and the air conditioning works less hard. Darkness is not what does the work, the film technology is.
We stock several established sun film brands including Sunbeam, and imported films including a German manufacturer. We will show you the options and the specifications at the counter.
Curtains are a straightforward alternative. Nothing goes onto the glass, they can be drawn back, and they are useful if you carry children or elderly passengers. We fit these too.
Usually the same day. Film needs a short curing period afterwards and we will tell you how long to leave the windows up.
