Because a lamp draws current the original circuit was never designed for. Tapped straight into the loom it heats the wiring and can melt it. We use a separate fused harness with a relay so the load sits on its own circuit. That is the whole difference between a job that lasts and one that causes trouble.
They can, if fitted carelessly. Beam pattern matters more than brightness. We aim them properly and will tell you if a particular upgrade is a bad idea for your car.
